Irony in the Grand Dream by Al Waharani (An Objective Literary Study)
Abstract
This paper aims at identifying the ironical situations as illustrated in Al Waharni's The Grand Dream. This paper reveals the sarcasm of the author and his cynical attitude toward a number of people in Ayyubid age in different sciences. He mocks a number of Egypt's and Syria's scholars, jurisprudents, writers, physicians, and phoneticians among others. This paper also aims at meditating the approach AL-Waharani adopted in writing The Grand Dream; an approach that is differed from the approach of his peers, who adopted Al-Fadili figurative style. Al Waharani, therefore, used a familiar style that is based on narrative and dramatic representation of scenes.Downloads
