Abstract

Abu Sa’eed Alsukkary's is one of the greatest scholars who investigated poets, poetry, poetry works, and made several poetry collections (dawaween) for many tribes. This research examines the explanation that Alsukkari had presented about Alhuthaliyeen’s poetry where he included many cases that deserve studying and investigating along with his opinions in language, syntax, and morphology. What astonished my was his opinions in plurals where many views were reported but without the need to break any barriers. I will focus here on the plurals that looked similar in his works but not following the customary works of the Arabs; those are plural of no singular, uncustomary plural, singular instead of plural, singular and plural in one word, using plural for dual, and using singular as plural. The methodology used in this work will be based on presenting the point of views of Alsukkari and then examining it thoroughly through dictionary references. The researcher will also look into the books of syntax, language, and morphology and any other related source then discussing these opinions in details for the sake of putting things into their perspectives. It became clear to the researcher that some of the opinions of Alsukkari were approved by the linguists later, but they reported these opinions without crediting him because it is well known or because they opposed him in some of those. As mentioned in the research.
