The Importance Of The Study Of Intercultural Communication As A Social Science
Abstract
This study evaluated the importance of the study of intercultural communication as a social science. A systematic review, of a total of 17 publications, was conducted to achieve the specific aim of this study. This review provides compelling proof that the study of intercultural communication as a social science enhances the intercultural communicative competence and intercultural sensitivities required to cope in intercultural environments, utilizes empirical and theoretical knowledge to develop solutions to challenges in multicultural environments, encompasses the study of the historical and psychosocial roles of culture in different societies, and enhances the knowledge of students about the impacts and dynamics of multicultural and cross-cultural interfaces.Downloads
