The Relationship between Culture and Creativity from a Socio-Anthropological Perspective

Abstract

The study aims at identifying the relationship between culture and creativity to reveal the overlaps between the cultural situation and creativity. By an identification of the nature of those boundaries and characteristics, the study adopts an analytical approach from a socio-anthropological perspective. The study comes up with a number of results: cultural practices affect the development of creativity. From a social context, the study presents that local formation of creativity contribute or limit the creative the individual’s creative abilities. There are some global components of creativity represented in modernity and novelty or originality in addition to appropriateness. Finally, the study shows that there is a number of differences among cultures regarding the concept of creativity.
