Turkish Foreign Policy towards the Arab Region: Constant and Inconstant

الملخص

This study investigates the Turkish Foreign policy towards the Arab Region since foundation of the Turkish Republic to present for purpose of screening constant and inconstant factors between the Kemalist era compared with the Ak Party reign. The study concluded that the Turkish policy has experienced perceived changes during this period; the deepest was an orientation change since 2012. The one-off constant period was that extended through 1960th. Further, the study found that the Turkish policy towards the Arab region has been influenced by the relationship between Turkey and its Western allies; and the new regional role of Turkey has its root going back to post-Cold War era with a different ideological outlook and using soft power tools.
