Abstract

Abstract: The Role of International Organizations and Governmental Policies In the Promotion of Arab Food Security The study shows the reality of Arab food security in the light of the main factors that continue to affect the increase of the food gap represented by demographic factors (population growth, population distribution, consumption pattern), and natural factors (limited agricultural land, water, desertification), and the international factor. It also addresses , the role of official bodies in the promotion of Arab food security such as international organizations and governments, in addition to providing the right strategy to further reduce the food gap. The study is based on the premise that major "and there is a correlation between the absence of a complementary strategy by international organizations and Arab governments, and the growing food gap in the Arab world." The study employs all of the statistical approach and functional approach to reach the results are based on research by the problem represented by the main objectives and its questions. Finally, the study concluded that many of the results and recommendations is notably, that government policies, and as a result of the absence of strategic scientific and practical is still responsible for providing the means capable of reducing the food gap, because it is not based on the foundations of regional integration fitting on one side, and the launch of the foundations of cooperation and partnership with organizations competent international food side, and encourage the private sector to do a modern roles to avoid the immediate food crisis and the future of the other. Therefore, the study recommends the introduction of complementary regional units experiences in addressing the food gap and practical cooperation with the mechanisms of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the International Organization for Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
