The Role of Small Enterprises in the Devlopement of Jordanian Woman: Case of Study: Al-Balqaa Governorate

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of the small enterprises in the development of Jordanian women in Al- Balqa’ governorate and to clarify the role of the financing institutions of these enterprises. A descriptive analytical approach was used. A scale was developed composed of two parts: the first aimed at women to measure the role of small businesses in the development of women consisting of (42) items distributed into four aspects (economic social cultural and education) the second addressed individuals working in the financing institutions of these enterprises consisting of (19) items. The study sample consisted of (724) women benefiting from the financial institutions in the governorate and (69) male and female employees selected by purposely available method. The results indicated that the role of small enterprises in developing the areas (economic social educational and cultural) of Jordanian women in the Balqa’ governorate came in a moderate degree as well as the role of small financing institutions. Differences were also found in the role of small enterprises in the development Jordanian women due to a level of education variable favoring women holding graduate degrees and differences of the age variable favoring women aged over (40) years. The findings also indicated differences due to social situation variable in favor of widows in addition to differences due to monthly income variable favoring women with less than (300) Jordanian dinar. No differences were found due to the level of educational level and employability rank. The study recommends paying more interest to the aspects concerning the introduction of new technologies and technological developments in these projects that reflect directly on marketing their products.
