Perceptions of non-working Mothers on their Social Position in the UAE Society
Abstract
The aim of this study is to identify the perceptions of Emirati mothers who are not working for their social position in the UAE society, by knowing their perception of society’s perception of them through several indications, and to achieve the goal of the study, a questionnaire was designed and applied to an intentional sample of 400 Emirati mothers who are non-working who live in Dubai. The results of the study revealed that the perceptions held by the study sample from the non-working mothers, the perception of society of their social status in the UAE was positive and high. The study also found that the level of self-esteem of the same sample was high. The results of the study revealed a statistically significant relationship between the variable of self-esteem and the variable of perceptions of non-working mothers in the perception of society of their social status in the UAE society. The study also found that there were statistically significant differences between the two age variables and the number of children, while there were no statistically significant differences between the following variables (social status variable, education level, previous work in an official job variable, variable of the duration of work, and income variable . The monthly family’s income, the variable of the presence of helpers at home, and the number of helpers at home) and between the paragraphs of the scale of perceptions of the study sample of their social position.Downloads
