Abstract

This paper deals with the Nabataean towns that were disputed between the Nabataean King Aretas III (87-62 BC) and Alexander Jannaeus (103-76 BC). This study strives to identify and locate these sites, which are listed by the historian Flavius Josephus in his Antiquities of the Jews, based on the available historical sources and the results of recent archaeological fieldwork, as well as their linguistic meanings.
