The Social Life of the Safeties and Thamudians as Portrayed in their Writings

Abstract

This research examines the social life of the Arab tribes in the Jordanian steppe in pre-Islamic times through the information that tens of thousands of Safaitic and Thamudic rock inscriptions provide about such social aspects of their daily life as conflicts, quarrels, the place of women and personal relationships such as love, passion, sex, fun, and entertainment, as well as music, epidemics, diseases, and traditions that distinguished them from other societies.
