Abstract

The heritage of Arabic and Islamic manuscripts is a treasure of the ummah, forming a universal heritage of human experiences throughout the ages. Reviewing the efforts of heritage researchers provides lessons drawn from their experiences. Their experiences can help motivate researchers to concern themselves with heritage manuscripts and increase their efforts to study, edit and catalogue them. This paper monitors the efforts of one scholar interested in the heritage of Arabic and Islamic manuscripts, who has worked for a long time cataloguing Arabic and Islamic manuscripts and edited a range of historical and geographical sources that had not been published before. He produced a series of studies related to Arabic and Islamic heritage. This paper also presents the difficulties that have hindered his career.
