The Narrations of Wahb Bin Munabbih in al-Tabari’s History of the Prophets and Kings and their Torah Dimensions
Abstract
The narratives of Wahb Bin Munabbih are among the most significant sources for Islamic history because they are based on Wahb’s previous knowledge of the divine books. Investigation of these narrations and a comparison with Jewish sources confront us with their historical dimensions and help us to understand the cultural dimensions of Arab societies. Moreover, it will help us to scrutinize whether Wahb took these narrations from Jewish sources that he had read or whether they were fabrications from his imagination.Downloads
