Abstract

Lihyanite inscriptions shed light on the nature of Lihyanite society and its thought and religious beliefs. The inscriptions include place names that are repeated such as bader, ban’al, bait, taqmom, jabal, ddn, and massd, which are places where taxes and monetary payments to the Lihyanite god were collected. The article focuses on the place names that are mentioned in the inscriptions in the regions of al-‘Ula, JabalAkmah and Jabal Umm Daraj.
