Abstract
This article examines Abdullah Bin Saleh Al-Mutawa, the first historian to attempt to write the history of the coastal emirates of northern Oman (UAE) before the Union in 1971. The article reveals the life of the author and his works including his book Gems and Pearls in the History of Northern Oman, examining its temporal and geographical scope, its sources and methods and its importance as a fundamental primary source for the history of the United Arab Emirates. Al-Mutawa was the first to write an integrated history of the coastal emirates of northern Oman.Downloads
