Proposed Standards for Selecting Educational Leaders at the Private Schools in Palestine in the Light of Current Status and Personal Quality Dimensions

Abstract

This study aimed at developing standards for selecting educational leaders at the private schools in Palestine in the light of current status and personal quality dimensions. The study sample consisted of (470) teachers and administrators at Brothers’ schools and Terra Santa’s Schools in Palestine. The study revealed that the current practice of selecting educational leaders according to the verified standards was ranked as “high”. All the four dimensions of the Personal Quality got a “high importance” as standards in selecting educational leaders in the private schools. The order of the four dimensions was as follows: Personal positive traits, human relations, distinguished performance, and finally the effective communication. In the light of the results, the researchers developed new standards for selecting educational leaders in the private schools in Palestine.
