Attitudes of Physical Fitness Course Students at Yarmouk University towards Practice of being Physically Active
Abstract
Attitudes of Physical Fitness Course Students at Yarmouk University towards Practice of being Physically Active ABSTRACT The study aimed at investigating the effect of physical fitness course on student's attitudes in Yarmouk University towards physical activities according to some variables (gender, academic year, college). The researchers used the descriptive approach. The study sample consisted of (61) students (40) males (21) females who enrolled in the course of fitness in the second semester of the academic year (2015) chosen randomly. Data were collected through the use of questionnaire as an instrument for the study. The questionnaire included (37) items divided into four subscales(Health aspect, social aspect, Psychological aspect and Health aspect). To analyze the data, means, standard deviation, percentage, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Independent Samples t-Test were used. The results indicated that student's attitudes towards physical activities were in moderate level. There were no statistical significant differences in the student's attitude attributed to the (gender, academic year, college). According to the result of the study the researchers recommends the necessity to develop a syllabus for the course physical fitness to suit the all university students and propose a compulsory course for all students at university rather than the elective course optional.
