The Impact of Knowledge Management on Strategic Orientation and the Role of Transformational Leadership As a Moderating Variable (Field Study on Jordanian Telecom Companies)
Abstract
This study aims to measure the relationship between knowledge management dimensions and strategic direction as well as the role of transformational leadership as a modifying variable among the Jordanian telecom companies. The analytical descriptive approach was used, as it is the most appropriate approach for the nature of the study and its objectives. The study society consisted of the top and middle management employees at the Jordanian telecom companies amounting to 803 employees. A random class sample was taken from )3( companies. )325( surveys were distributed, )284 ( of which were collected and analyzed. The researcher designed and developed the study tool for the purpose of the study. The study concluded that knowledge management dimensions have an impact on the strategic direction and the role of transformational leadership as a modifying variable. There is also an impact for each of the knowledge management dimensions (knowledge recognition, knowledge generation, knowledge application) on strategic direction. On the other hand, the analysis results did not show any statistically significant effect for knowledge sharing on strategic direction. The analysis results showed a statistically significant effect for each of the knowledge management dimensions (knowledge recognition, knowledge generation and knowledge application) on transformational leadership. They also showed that there is an effect for transformational leadership dimensions (individualized considerations and intellectual simulations) on strategic direction, Multiple regression analysis did not show any statistically significant effect for the dimensions of (ideal effect and inspirational stimulation) on strategic direction. The study recommends working on conducting further studies and research on Jordanian companies. The study also stresses the importance of dealing with variables that have not been addressed in this study.Downloads
