It aims to reveal the social factors leading to divorce after an extended period of marriage. The study was conducted in Makkah Al-Mokarammah area and the sample was formed of 12 divorced women. The researcher used the interview as a tool for datacollection. It is found that most of the subjects have low educational level, and most of them have their ages ranging between (37-42 years). Most of these ladies have undergone what can be described as under age marriage experience, as most of them were married under the age of 17. The vast majority of them spent a marriage period ranging between (10 to 15 years). However, this does not exclude the existence of divorce cases after 20 years of marriage. It is also revealed that these ladies were associated with their husbands in traditional ways.Actually, the majority of these women did not live a real stage of engagement. Indeed ,the vast majority of these women believed that violence , women abuse, followed by belief in magic and sorcery, marital infidelity by husbands , suspicion, jealousy and nervousness were the major factors behind their divorce. It is observed that divorced women are living a stable social and psychological life. This is because most of them got jobs that provide good income, and put them in better conditions. This situation has led many of them to reject the idea of going into marriage experience again ER -
