Delay of biological motherhood and its impact on the health and psychological well-being of Omani woma
Abstract
Abstract: The objective of this study is to examine the psychological and health effects of the delay in the reproduction of offspring due to maternal infertility on Omani women. The sample of this study was (317) women who suffered from infertility and who usually attended Muscat's hospitals and private clinics for checkups and treatment. Results indicated some factors that led to the delay of women becoming mothers. In addition, they showed limited effects on the psychological well-being of those women who suffered from infertility. Some of them showed anxiety and a high level of negative emotions as a result of the delay in becoming mothers. These emotions affected their health and caused health syndromes such as complicated pregnancy, a high risk of getting a caesarean section, and fetal death.Downloads
