Required Educational Sufficiencies for Teachers of the Arabic language to non-Native Speakers and the Extent of their Practice of it

Abstract

This study aims to find the list of the educational sufficiencies for Teachers of the Arabic language to non-Native Speakers and the Extent of their Practice of it reaching into answering these questions: 1- What are the required educational sufficiencies for teachers of the Arabic language to non-native speakers in the language center/ The University of Jordan? 2- What is the practicing degree of the other required sufficiencies that done by the teachers of Arabic Language to non-native speakers in language center/ university of Jordan? 3- Does the practicing degree of the other required sufficiencies that are done by the teachers of Arabic Language to non-native speakers differentiate according to the sex (male or female) in language Center/ University of Jordan? 4- Does the practicing degree of the other required sufficiencies are that done by the teachers of Arabic Language to non-native speakers differentiate according to academic qualifications in language Center/ The University of Jordan? 5- Does the practicing degree of the other required sufficiencies that done by the teachers of Arabic Language to non-native speakers differentiate according to experience years in Language Center/ The University of Jordan? The study population is composed of 24 male and female teachers that teach in the section of Arabic Language of non-speakers in the Language Center at the University of Jordan. It includes a list of the educational sufficiencies that required in 8 main fields and 96 sub-sufficiencies, then making sure from its validity. The researcher makes a statistical treatment for the averages and standard deviations. The study finds out the following results: 1- Making a list of required educational sufficiencies for the Arabic language teachers to non-speakers. 2- Arabic language teachers to non-speakers practice three fields of educational sufficiences with extremely high degree and three fields with high degree and one field with medium degree as well as one degree with low degree. 3- No statistically significant differences (α=05.0) in the practicing degree of required sufficiencies that are done by the Arabic language teachers to non-speakers refer to the sex variable (female or male). 4- Statistically significant differences (α=05.0) in the practicing degree of required sufficiencies that are done by the Arabic language teachers to non-speakers refer to academic qualification. 5- Statistically significant differences (α=05.0) in the practicing degree of required sufficiencies that are done by the Arabic language teachers to non-speakers refer to experience. The study recommends depending on the list of educational sufficiencies in the programs, and Arabic language centers of non-speakers, also attracting the attention of the authors of non-speaker Arabic language curriculum regarding with the importance of educational sufficiencies.
