Abstract

This research deals with Interaction of the lyrical and the narrative in Modern Arabic Poetry, and defines the lyrical and narrative concepts. This is seen in Free Verse (Tafci:la poetry) of Ahmad Abdul Moa'ti Hijazi and Shawki Abu Shaqra where narration was mixed with lyrical poetry. Also we note that lyricism and narration interact in various forms of non-metric Free Verse of Jabra Ibrahim Jabra and prose poem of Onsi Alhaj. The narration of a poem appeared through techniques like dramatic structure, which comes from drama and plays, telling which comes from novel and short story and flashback from cinema.
