Abstract

Some Syrian poetesses from Yemeni tribes emerged during the Ummayyad era. They played a role in the events that took place in their epoch, and their presence was clear in some social activities. This research aims at recognizing these poetesses, gatherning their poems from different sources, describing their literary roles during that epoch, and interpreting why not much of poetry we have received. The Poetry of these neglected poetesses dealt with home sickness, self-praise, elegizing, enciting to take revenege, satirizing their husbands. These poems are few because most of them were lost for many reasons.
