Abstract

Abstract This study is aiming to show the effectiveness of the mechanism of what is characterized as a “Irony” in the Holy Quranic narrative, that to reveal the beauty points in these narrative uniquely in terms of conception and in the involvement of the religious purposes. Where I have chosen two kinds of such “Irony”, verbal Irony which are often come in one narrative sentence and the dramatic Irony, which is considered to be more suitable in studying narrative in the sense that its essence is depending on the development of the events tightness. I have benefited from the descriptive analytical methodology stated in Holy Quranic narrative texts, which means that I have contented myself by the Holy Quranic texts as a fundamental and basic source for this study. I have concluded a number of findings the refrom this study, and I have incorporated this in the conclusion, as I have included the most important issues that “Irony” is an inherent methodology in the Quranic narrative texts in terms of the two parts, verbal and dramatic, which we can find that in events and the dialogues initiated therein, as well as the scenes of the narrative.
