The role of universities in community development from the perspective of the Staff: Social Study

Abstract

This study was conducted to identify the role of universities in community development from the perspective of faculty members, and to achieve this goal has been to rely on the study tool through the form has been prepared specifically for this end, the study sample consisted of (70) faculty member in the faculties of Irbid, Ajloun, was used as a descriptive statistical analysis methods, and analysis of variance method and (F )test to achieve objectives of the study, The study relied on descriptive analytical method, the study found that the role of the faculties of Irbid, Ajloun university in community development came moderately as indicated by the results of the statistical analysis, and the most common areas of community development was the area of good citizenship, and the results indicated the presence of differences statistically significant at the level of significance (α = 0.05) in (the tool as a whole) attributed to the educational qualification variable (PhD), the results indicated that the main obstacles that prevent the faculties of Irbid, Ajloun university in community development was that most of the scientific research used for the personal purposes as getting a degree or upgrading from one hand, and from the other hand the faculties of Irbid, Ajloun don't take the findings and recommendations of applied research that serve the society and its development service.
