Abstract

The study of spatial variation of population growth rates represents an indication for developmental accomplishments related to development planning. This study aims to clarify the population growth rates based on Census of 1994 and 2004 which undertaken by the Department of Statistics; as well as, determination of the most important differences of each governorate according to population growth rate at nation level using root logarithmic. Findings reveal that the governorates of Mafraq, Aqaba, Amman, Jarash, Ajloun, Balqa, Ma’an, Irbid, Madaba, Zarqa and Tafila are arranged as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 respectively, in spite of the large population size of Amman, Zarqa and Irbid, and irregularity of geographic interconnection of these governorates at regional level.
