Abstract

This study investigates the history of economic life in Tabuk region during the 12th and 13th AH, (18th and 19th AD centuries). The region falls geographically at the northwestern part of Saudi Arabia, and includes Tabuk, Tema, Duba’a, Haql, Alwajh, Amluj, and surrounding suburbs. The importance of the region’s location comes from being on the Shami and Egyptian pilgrimage ways. This gave the opportunity for Muslim and European globetrotters to gather information, which contributed to trace the economic activity of the region and that included: livestock, agriculture, trade, industry and related changes during the 12th and 13th AH, 18th and 19th AD centuries.
