Imagery Formationsin Mohammed Mekdadi’s Poetry
Abstract
This study explores imagery formations in the collection of poems entitled “The Book of Death” by Mohammed Mekdadi and discusses its spiritual, human and natural sources. In addition, it reflects upon the aesthetic formation of his poetic imageries and conducts an analysis of their language, harmony and interrelation with the past. The third section in this study demonstrates the aesthetics of form and its effects on the reader. It argues that imageries in Mekdadi’s poetry are peerless in profundity, prolificacy, peculiarity and poignancy, and feature the transformational properties of modern poetry. The study concludes that Mekdadi’s poetic imageries, diversity of their sources, form and harmony effectively helped convey meaning to the reader.Downloads
