Abstract

The study aims to clarify the national dimension in the Palestinian popular song during the period 1917-1948, which is an essential part of the folklore that represents the memory and the authenticity of the Palestinian identity. The Palestinian folk song included a lot of life activities and national events of the Palestinian people, especially the national stages and the political events and developments of the Palestinian issue, where the issue of the homeland occupied the largest area of the total Palestinian folk songs. The song became the popular form of resistance and a historian of the overall historical events that faced the Palestinian cause and the people’s struggle.
