Place Space in Al-Hariri’s Maqamat (Assemblies)

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the importance of place in Al_ Hariri's Maqamat and to clarify its artistic function with its literacy and characters in Maqamat. The place of Maqamat should be correlated to the events, time and characters to build the anecdotal pyramid. This imporves the sequenee and reaction of events, the appearance of characters as well as developing the polet. Furthermore allowing the writer, narrator and audience to be involved in the textual structure of Maqamat. Consequntly, the setting in which Maqamat take place should reflect the status and lives within the scene it wishes to mirror, while keeping the past and present homeland memories alive.
