This has resulted in a rise in the land prices and a difficulty in providing services and infrastructure in addition to transportation difficulties. The study aims at deciding the effect of impeding zones on the growth and shape of the city, therefore, it has dealt with the population growth and the areal expansion through city growth stages and the impeding zones. The study concludes that there are two major forms of impeding zones: The natural one having the influence of (50.3%) and resulting from the geographic site of the city and the humane one having the influence of (19.3%) and resulting from the absence of long term planning. The study suggests some solutions that limit the influence of the crisis.
