Study in Al-Sabban’s Commentary and Explanation

Abstract

The study aims at investigating some aspects of Al Sabban linguistic thoughts by going through his commentary on Al Ashmoni's explanation on Alfiyyat Ibn Malik. The study sheds some light on his methodology in the commentary, his method of explanation and his attitude toward some linguists by tackling their opinions and tracing them back in order to bring out his scientific character on one side and the value of the commentary on the other
