Abstract

The setting in the work of artists is considered a great deal. While the setting holds the memory and visions, it also provides optical meanings that could potentially be very expressive and unique and contribute to the formation of the aesthetic paintings that have a flavor and taste of their own. It also contributes to the mainstreaming of the cultural identity of the creator، especially in light of the modernization and western globalization backed by the sway of science and alienation, which has rocked the cultures of the world in the last two decades. All that did not discourage our artists from trying to root the identity and self-culture in their works. So, the replication of the place snd setting in the work was one of the more pressing means for the mainstreaming of self and cultural identity. The study will review the highlights of Jordanian artists’ employment of the place setting of jordan، in particular highlighting the specialties of that employment in its different varieties like the pictorial، modernist or any other. This study will also shed light on the presence of place setting in Jordanian art by the raw artisitc materials derived from the place itself. Due to the visual nature of the study, the research will depend on the reading phenomenology approach in monitoring the place setting in the most important artists’ configurations of drawing، photography، ceramics، sculpture and more، starting with the experiences of pioneers of the sixties generation of the last century and ending with some of the experiences of today's generation where the study will include visual models from their experiences in drawing up the place، included in the context of the study itself.
