Abstract

The seasonal and annual rainfall amounts during the rain seasons 1957/1958-2006/2007 for 13 stations across Jordan were examined to explore any possible trends in the last 50 years. Analysis has revealed that rainfall amounts have changed on a seasonal scale, rainfall amounts have decreased in the autumn season and increased in spring, rainfall amounts in winter increased in the northern part and decreased in the rest of the country, southern and eastern parts. The annual rainfall amounts have increased in the northwestern part of Jordan as in Baqura, Irbid, and Rasmuneef; and decreased in the rest of the country as in Aqaba, Ma'an, and Safawi.
