Abstract

This study is about the narrative text in terms of its beginnings and its development across ages. Knowing that literary texts are derived from other earlier texts, they add new artistic insights and techniques. The study also examines three aspects: legend, epic, and novel. The study shows that the narrative text passes through several stages. In addition, it indicates that the narrative text is an output of the humanitarian awareness that expresses the relationship of mankind with the world and the way it deals with it.
