Press Coverage of Amman Terrorist Bombing In the Jordanian Daily Newspapers (Analytical Study)

Abstract

This study aimed to identify how the Jordanian daily newspapers covering the issues of terrorism though the Amman bombings that took place in October 2005, and how the newspapers addressed this issue, using the content analysis method. The most prominent results of the study were the following: 1- Topics of support and loyalty to the Jordanian leadership have had the highest sate of the bombing subjects (24.1%). 2- News captured the first place between the coverage patterns in Al-Raei and Al-Arab Alyoum, the rate in both newspapers reached (35.9%), which confirms the news nature of the Jordanian daily press. 3- Papers presented (94.2%) bombing subjects on the first pages and (3.9%) on the internal pages, while (1.9%) was on the last pages. 4- (63.4%) of the bombing subject was loaded with emotional conciliations while (25.9%) of the subjects was loads with rational conciliations.
