Abstract

This paper investigates the relation between the culture of Arab societies and planned intimidation processes to impose negative change that affects people’s free movement. Such intimidation is practiced by oppressive state’s bodies to prevent change of the regimes. It also studies the intimidation processes exercised by western states towards Arab societies through occupation and torture policies to produce the desired change.

The study reports that Arab societies have been under dual pressure; one is exercised by internal governmental bodies, while the other is exercised by western states against Arab regimes and societies to change cultural patterns of resistance and to install regimes that are more loyal to the west. Such planned processes are facing resistance deepened by people’s original cultural values.

The study concludes that imperial policies toward Arab societies and regimes did not produce the desired change. The results include resistance by Arabs and Moslems against fear and intimidation culture
