Abstract

This study deals with the American interest in the region of the Middle East, and the motivations, which led to establish diplomatic relations with it.

It concentrates, in particular, on the Jordanian – American relations, and discusses the reasons standing behind the Americans interest in Jordan as a member country of the Middle East.

The study sheds light on many issues representing these relations, and traces some developments and changes which occurred in these relations as a result of the international political scene and in the light of the American all over the way interests.

The study concentrates also on the benefits of these relations between Jordan and the United states on economic and political sides to both Jordan and the states.

It also discusses some important aspects in America's relations with the region's countries, such as the relations between the countries themselves in light of the cold war between the United States and the Soviet Union.
