Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the extent of changes in the urban centers layers size in the governorate of Irbid، and so determining the dynamic radius and measuring the extent of changes in population centers of gravity for four years (1994، 2004، 2013، 2019). This study adopted both the inductive approach and the analytical approach to achieve its desired goals. And I found that the general pattern of distribution of urban centers is the divergent pattern، where the value of the neighborhood connection factor was 1.12 and the value of the Chi-square is 14.4، as it turned out that the city's growth trend from west to east، and the results also showed that 36% of the total population centers are small in size، with less population It has about (1000) inhabitants، and there is no specific rule determining the spacing between the centers of each class، and the presence of the dominant center over the study area represented in Irbid، the city.
