Reiteration in Mahmoud Darwish’s Poetry Collection "Akin to Almond Flowers or Yonder"

Abstract

Reiteration is a salient feature in Mahmoud Darwish’s poetry, which takes several aesthetic and rhetorical shapes and perspectives. While reiteration is a weighty component in almost all Darwish’s poetry, the study traces and critically responds to his collection entitled Akin to Almond Flowers or Yonder, since reiterative technique makes avisible informative and multifaceted textual structure in this collection, in particular. In this regard, the study explores ehree aspects of reiteration in the selected collection including lexical, verbal, and structural. The study concludes that reiteration is a vital literary technique for Darwish’s poetry both as a thematic concern and as an aesthetic value.
