Abstract

This research is concerned with studying one of the Islamic inscriptions discovered in the Jordanian Badia region specifically in Wadi Sarah, to the north east of the town of al-Safawi. The importance of the inscription is due to its mention of a name of person belonging to al- Khazraj tribe, who dated his inscription in the year of the death of Caliph Hisham. Therefore, the inscription is the first archaeological source, which mention this tribe in Bilad Al-Sham, before the stage of recording history by historians such as Ibn AL-Khayyat or Ibn Saad.
