Abstract

The Research explores the phenomenon of the presence of the character in contemporary Jordanian poetry The research takes Rashed Issa's poem "Maysa" as a model The research sheds light on the concept of the character's poem, and provides a stylistic and semantic study to Rashed Issa's poem "Maysa" The stylistic indications are about the composition of the artistic construction including the descriptive introduction, the narrative style, the rhythm and the repetition The poem's response to the stylistic mirrors made its artistic construction coherent In terms of semantic indications, the research discovers that the poet gives Maysa supernatural qualities as for giving others and social effectiveness in which Maysa symbolizes Palestine itself, or , at least , she shows a unique example of the struggling Palestinian women. Such a great women never die in people's memories just as Palestine which will never die The research also finds out that the poem is full of innovative metaphors, and new poetic images that have added important aesthetic uniqueness to the poem
