Abstract

This study explores the poetic correspondence in Al-Tijani's journey, which he had exchanged during his alienation with his family and friends and others. It also examines the contents of the correspondence and their poetic topics, where the whole section of the Brotherhood or sentimental poetry is included. The study was divided as follows: - Longing and homesickness, where different topics are involved such as greetings and salutations, wishing to reunite and meet soon. - Confirming love and fulfilling the bond of friendship and affection between them. - Praise - Admonitions and other issues (complaint, contents related to the tasks carried out by Al-Tijani, etc.) The study concluded that such correspondences were one of the valuable aspects added to the other aspects that characterized this journey. In addition to the valuable information those correspondences contained in the literary, geographical and historical aspects, they introduced a psychological document of Al-Tijani, his family, lovers and their feelings, which portrayed the depth of affection among them. Further, they portrayed friendship and friend's position in the stay and travel. Furthermore, the academic and literary status of Al-Tijani, and his situation with his employer Abu Yahya, and the administrative functions he used to perform, were all revealed.
