Spatial assessment of fuel stations in the city of Irbid and its seriousness on the uses of the adjacent land using geographic information systems

Abstract

The objective of this study is to evaluate the geographical location of the fuel stations in the city of Irbid, by identifying the types of service and industrial uses neighboring and influencing them. The impact of fuel stations includes the nature of services provided by these stations to users. The study used spatial analysis to determine the spatial pattern of stations and services affected.Through GIS software. The study was based on field survey data from a questionnaire distributed to stations and their geographic location by the Global Signing System (GPS). The study found that the distribution pattern of the stations was random and the distribution trend was to the northwest.The study also found that about 42% of fuel stations were classified as very high risk for neighboring services. Compared to 47% of them are of high risk.
