Professional Competencies of Family Reform Counselors in the Supreme Judge Department in Jordan and its role with family adjustment

Abstract

The study aimed at revealing the professional competencies and their relation to family adjustment in the family reform counselors in Jordan , and whether this varies according to gender variables, social status, years of experience, and scientific qualification. The sample of the study consisted of (43) counselors working in family reform offices of the Supreme Judge Department in Jordan. the researchers developed professional competencies of the family reform counselors scale which consisted of of (42) item, and the scale of the family adjustment consisting of (44) item. The scale was applied on the study sample after concerned its validity and stability. The results of the study indicated that the level of professional competencies and family adjustment was high, and there were no statistically significant differences in both professional competencies and family adjustment in family reform counselors due to gender, years of experience, social status, scientific qualification. The results also showed a positive correlation between family adjustment as a whole and professional competencies as a whole. In light of the results of the study, researchers recommend further studies on family reform counselors.
