To achieve the objective of the study a questionnaire has been prepared to collect data, consisted of three sections of (30) items. The study followed the analytical descriptive approach. The questionnaire has been applied on the study’s sample composed of (452) students; males and females, who form (25%) of the total fresh students; (1809) male and female students, registered for the first semester of the academic year (2019/2020). The students were chosen according to the simple random sample method. The study reached a number of results, the most important were: 1. Two thirds of the students (66.4%) use social networking for two to five hours. Half of the students (51.1%) have (80 to 100) friends on social networking. (62%) of the students have a Facebook account, (13.3%) have a Twitter account, and the rest of the students have accounts on other social media websites. Facebook is considered the most used and the most influencing website for students. 2. The use of social networking Sites has caused physical exhaustion for students, anxiety, discomfort, isolation from family and relatives, as well as daring to talk and conversing with friends of both sexes to a great extent. Social networking has contributed to getting to know other people of both sexes, and has greatly reduced the desire for cooperation with the family.
