Abstract

The research discusses a detailed analysis of the fourth movement of Yousef Khasho's Al Hussein bin Ali Symphony whose music contains Arab nationalism characteristics. His work is based on a dramatic story through which he used a variety of techniques of dramatography. His melodic ideas are associated with the dramatic ideas of the Great Arab Revolt depiction through a program symphony consisting of four movements. The researcher studied this great work that exceeds sixty minutes and dedicated an entire research to each movement in order to take care of all artistic details. Due to the artistic value of this work, the researcher studied it to focus on dramatic programs for Khasho and to analyze the research sample within the academic standards to be utilized by researchers and studiers in general and composition specialists in particular. The study problem is the rarity of researches that deal with the Jordanian orchestral works, and the study aimed at benefiting from the orchestral writing methods and the harmonic and polyphonic processing techniques of Yousef Khasho. Moreover, the researcher faced the problem of Khasho's work sheet music loss, so he rewrote the sheet music by listening to some of his works including Al Hussein bin Ali Symphony supported by the Scientific Research Deanship of Jordan University.
