Abstract

No doubt, the value of any poetic work is not only determined by its subject, but also by its new artistic performance which manifests in many levels. Because language is the main means for this performance, its use is dominated by two contradictory dimensions: an objective dimension prevailed by a narrative theme and a subjective dimension prevailed by a suggestive theme. There may be a third dimension mixing between them. Accordingly, the current study tends to acheive two objectives: - A theoretical objective through which we focus on the importance of the artistic performance and its levels including the semantic space of the poetic image. - A practical objective through which we attempt to uncover the manifestations of the poetic image levels.
