Abstract

The research aims to shed light on the economic and commercial relations between Iraq and India in the period between 1952 to 1979, as the relations were based on economic and commercial foundations due to the presence of oil in Iraq and its large reserves that strengthened those relations, especially oil, because the government of Iraq at that time wanted to get rid of foreign control of its capabilities, as well as not being biased to any side. Therefore, it preferred to distance itself and start its relations with non-aligned countries, including India, for what India had in terms of economic experiences. Therefore, the two sides tried to strengthen those relations at all levels .
