Abstract

Tourism in general and religious tourism in particular is considered one of the most important human requirements as it is a vital subject because it occupies a distinguished position among the population, due to its importance in satisfying the needs of the recreational and religious needs of the population, as well as it is a cornerstone of the national economy of the country on the other hand. The study dealt with the most important religious tourist sites in six cities in Iraq, namely the holy city of Karbala, Najaf, Baghdad, Samarra, Basra and Mosul. The research dealt with the number of tourists coming to these religious centers, whether inside Iraq or abroad.
