Abstract

The aim of this research is to model the hill shades of Erbil in northern Iraq By Using Geomatics Technologies and to compare the modeling of hill shadows calculated through Arc G.I.S. V. 10.4.1 The default is based on only one reading: The angle of the sun's location on the horizon (Azimuth) measured from north to east (clockwise) of 315°, and the inclination of the sun's rays above the horizon (that is, the amount of sun rise) Over the horizon in the Altitude Planetarium (45°), which is currently used in all geographic studies and researches, with the modeling of the shadows of the hills calculated from: PV Lighthouse program for each hour of the day according to the location of the city of Erbil, the center of Erbil province, which can be calculated for all days of the year.
